Motion to buy a new pool table for use in TV room for all JCR members.

This JCR notes:

●      The current pool table, although workable, is subject to wear and tear and can be used by other colleges

●      Sometimes the bar is too crowded and not the best place to play pool and can be use

●      The TV room is currently underused and lacks any recreational things to do.

●      The Pool Society lacks any space to host games and practice. It currently has to play at the SU which is nasty and smelly.

●      Other JCRs including Van Mildert, Collingwood, and St Johns have pool tables in their common rooms rather than their bar.

This JCR believes:

●      A new pool table in the TV room will improve the currently underused space. This will help rejuvenate a college-only space that is underused.

●      This new pool table will provide a space for the pool society to practise and host games with other colleges.

●      The old pool table should remain in the bar for casual use.

●      A college only pool table will not only save booking out the SU tables, but allow a much needed recreational space to improve the mental health of students with an area to wind down, especially in exam season.

●      The pool society is in dire need for revitalisation and this will improve engagement as without a table to call home the society is in danger of falling apart.
