About the Hatfield Association

The Hatfield Association is a community of thousands of Hatfielders, both past and present. Our membership spans nine decades, with alumni from the 1940s through to current-day students.

It was established in 1946 at a time when Hatfielders faced uncertainty due to plans to merge with Castle (perish the thought!). Since then, the Association has used the power of its community to enrich Hatfield students’ university experience and empower them to ‘be the best they can be’

Membership is open to all current and former students of Hatfield College, Durham University.

Why join?

One of the key ways we support undergraduates and postgraduates is through opportunities to connect with Hatfield alumni working in various fields, allowing you to seek career advice and make contacts ahead of graduating.

And once you leave Durham, we keep you connected to Hatfield and its community through regular updates and events, including reunion weekends, London meet-ups and (excitingly) the chance to return to formal!

You’ll also be able to ‘give back’ to the College we already know you’re going to love by getting involved in our various initiatives.

How to join?

A one-off payment of £25 gives you lifetime membership of the Hatfield Association – based on average life expectancy that’s just 36p a year!

If you did not join before your arrival at Durham University (through your completion of the Student Levies online form available from the Hatfield College, Durham University website) you can join directly now by completion of the Hatfield Association signup Form.

So, sign up today to secure all the benefits.
